Two month well-baby check

Little man, yesterday you did great at your 2 mo. well-baby check up. You didn't cry at all, even though we had to wait an hour in the waiting room because their new software recorded us as a "no show." Luckily, I finally asked why the long wait, and they fessed up. So we thought you were at least 12 lbs., but you are in fact 11 lbs. 10 oz., which is still a lot! You feel very heavy and are doing much more every day! Today you are in your aquarium bouncer, kicking away, laughing, all the while hiccuping and swinging your arms everywhere. So cute!

Hanging out at the Russian River cabin

Memorial Day Weekend

Alex, we had a really busy Memorial Day weekend and you did a great job! On Saturday we went to Debby and John's cabin on the Russian River, where we spent the day and evening with John, Debby, Chris, fiance Joy, son Adrian, Bernie, Sharon, Norma, Heni, and a few others who stopped for a visit. You enjoyed being held by everybody, hanging out in your aquarium bouncer, and having your diaper changed what seemed like every 15 minutes! Wow, how much did you eat? We stayed for dinner, which was a Hobo Stew cooked on the coals in the bonfire out front near the deck. We had so much fun, and later when we got home (around 11:30 p.m.) you fell right to sleep and slept 4.5 hours, then 3 more hours! Thank you for letting us get a little sleep!

On Sunday we went to Daddy's tennis match in Lucas Valley, and he won! You got to meet and hang out with lots of his teammates. You were really hungry and spent a lot of our time there chowing down. Later we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a quick nap, dinner, and a movie. You got kind of fussy, but we understood...you had such a busy weekend.

8 weeks old!!!

Baby Alex, you are now 8 weeks old, as of 9:30 last night. So hard to believe you were born eight weeks ago already! You are finally sleeping four hours at a time...only one time at night and not every night, but at least you've passed that mark and we know you can do it. Can't wait until you can sleep six hours at a time...maybe in a few weeks. You had such a great time at your baby shower last weekend...being held by everyone. Now you are sleeping peacefully in your bassinet, hopefully we'll get 4 hours!

Alexander's Baby Shower weekend

Alex's Baby Shower!

Alex's baby shower was on Saturday evening at P.F. Chang's. It was a lot of fun and so many great friends and family members showed up to spend the evening with the little guy. Alexander had a great time being passed around and held by all of his loved ones. The food was great and P.F. Chang's staff did an awesome job taking care of all 35 or so of us. Sue brought the cutest party favors (little blue Chinese boxes filled w/ jordan almonds) and "It's a Boy" confetti for the tables, as well as an adorable stork baby cake w/ cheesecake filling. Friends Don and girlfriend Kim flew from Michigan for the weekend to attend the event. Friends Paul and Melissa flew from Seattle to spend the weekend with all of us too. Rob drove from Shasta and provided fun times and lots of help with everything. Michael came from Monterey for the baby shower, as did Peter from Vallejo. Gisela and Thierry came after a busy day at the stores to give some love to their grandbaby. Thank you to everybody who came to honor the little man and for the wonderful gifts you brought for him. Alexander is a very loved baby, and he knows it!

We will post videos and photos from the baby shower as soon as we have a chance to upload them!!!

7 weeks old

Happy birthday, Alex, you turned 7 weeks old last night at 9:30 p.m. You sure have grown since that first night when you were born! You have your 2 mo. well-baby check-up next week, and I'll bet you will be at least 11.5 lbs. So many changes...you are smiling and laughing like crazy and you even love peek-a-boo! We're still working on sleeping more than 2 hours at a time during the night, but you are gettiing plenty to eat. You have already outgrown some of your outfits, and they were supposed to last 3 months!

Doctor's Appt. Today

Alex, we had a doctor's appointment today to check on you and Mommy and she said everything is great. Amazingly, you now weigh 10.5 pounds...wow, you are growing so fast! Keep it up, little guy. You are now napping, catching up on sleep you didn't get last night. I think you and I slept maybe 3 or 4 hours total...you were so hungry, and then colicky. Mommy and Daddy sure hope you will start sleeping more a.s.a.p. Eight hours would be great, but we'll take at least 4 hours at a time.

Some New pictures from today!!

Busy weekend

Alex, we had such a busy weekend, and you took it all in stride. On Saturday, Gramma came to take care of you while Mommy and Daddy went to see a movie. You had such a good time with Gramma, cooing and being your cute self. On Sunday you hung out w/ Daddy while Mommy and Gramma did a little shopping (mostly for you, of course). You slept a good amount and had lots of milk, as usual. Later, Bob came for dinner and brought you cute outfits and an Einstein baby toy. Jaclyn held you while we ate dinner, and you were so happy. You love being held by lots of different people...as long as you can be held 24/7, you're a happy camper.

Waking Up

Good Morning, little Alex

Good morning, little sweet pea! You had a pretty good night, letting Mommy sleep for 2.5 hours at a time...this is up from the half hour stints from previous nights. You feel a bit heavier this a.m., so we know you are continuously growing. Today we are going to go for a hike up at Foothill...Mommy, Daddy, and Alex. Hopefully it won't rain 'til later. Tomorrow Grandma's coming to see you, Alex, and take care of you so Mommy and Daddy can go to dinner and a movie.
